Dr. Garth N. Christenson, O.D., M.S. Ed.

Dr. Christenson is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry and completed the Residency in Children's Vision at the Southern California College of Optometry. In addition, he earned his Masters in Education from California State University of Fullerton.

He is a Diplomate in the Binocular Vision and Perception Section of the American Academy of Optometry and was an associate professor at the Southern California College of Optometry where he served for a time as Acting Chief of Vision Therapy. Dr. Christenson is presently engaged in private practice in Hudson, Wisconsin and is a consultant to the New Visions Charter School in Minneapolis, MN.

He has been involved in the National Literacy Volunteers of America. This program operates across the country on a local level through the coordinated efforts of public libraries and private corporations who provide one-to-one tutoring for adults with literacy problems. Dr. Chistenson has co-authored The Dyslexia Screener (TDS) , the Adult Dyslexia Test (ADT), the Pre-dyslexia Letter Coding Test (PLCT), and has published articles on reading disabilities, dyslexia and visually-related problems. He is co-author of the text, Optometric Management of Reading Dysfunction. He lectures and conducts in-services on vision care and management of reading disabilities.
